Activate Alarm0=Activates the alarms for the corresponding resource type. (for an explanation of the individual resource types refer to the help topics in the System Resource section of the main Window Manager window.)
Activate Memory Guardian Option0=Memory Guardian manages memory to maximize available resources. This means you can run more applications at the same time without experiencing "Out of Memory" messages and system slow downs. Memory Guardian protects against programs taking more than their fair share of conventional memory (see conventional memory help topic in the System Resource section for more information.)
Activate Memory Guardian Option1=Memory Guardian protects you by restricting launched programs to 512 bytes of conventional memory on start up, forcing them to use extented memory for the rest. NOTE: Some programs are conventional memory hogs and will return memory error messages when started. If this happens, temporarily turn off Memory Guardian to allow the program to pig out and get started. Check the program vendor to see if they have a new version that is less greedy.
Add Button0=Adds programs selected from a browse dialog box to the Launch Pad bar.
Alarm Button0=Provides a dialog to activate and set system resource alarms. You may set early warning and severe alarm levels for each system parameter to indicate when you might want to close one or more applications to prevent memory errors or crashes.
Auto Add Exclude0=A window for editing the automatic add exclude list. This feature allows you to enter any programs or file types you want to have excluded from automatically being added to the Launch Pad bar.
Auto Add Exclude1=(see the Automatically Add To Launch Pad help topic in the options window for more information.)
Automatically Add To Launch Pad Option0=When this option is checked running applications will automatically be added to the Launch Pad bar on an ongoing basis. This will quickly add the programs you use for convenient access in the future. You can freeze the arrangement of the Launch Pad icons at any time by disabling this option.
Automatically Add To Launch Pad Option1=NOTE: Files listed as excluded will not be loaded into the Launch Pad toolbar. (see help topic for Exclude Button for more information)
Automatically Arrange Desktop Icons Option0=This option keeps the icons on you desktop arranged automatically on an ongoing basis.
Browse Button0=Opens a file dialog window to browse your system for files to enter into the exclude list. Files listed as excluded will not be loaded into the Launch Pad toolbar.
Browse Icon Button0=Opens a file dialog window to browse your system for files containing icons you can choose to replace the current icon.
Cancel Button0=Aborts any changes made in a dialog window (or if the Cancel button replaces a previous button, the pending action of the previous button is canceled.)
Change Icon Button0=Opens a section of the Properties window for choosing a new icon to represent the selected application on the Launch Pad bar.
Close Button0=Closes the next program selected from the Running Apps bar. This is the same as closing from within the program.
Command Line0=The Command Line displays the application's path and file name.
Company0=Enter then name of your company, if any, in the "Company:" text box to register WinWin.
Contiguous Memory0=Contiguous Memory reports the memory currently allocated to the global heap for the number of contiguous free bytes. This is specified as the number of bytes in the largest free object that Windows can generate if it removes all discardable objects.
Conventional Memory0=Conventional Memory reports the amount of free memory below 640 Kilobyte. This memory pool is a scarce system resource. Many applications can consume large amounts of conventional memory. A shortage causes mysterious "Out of Memory" messages and other program failures even when virtual memory and system resources indicate plenty of room. If a program can't allocate the memory on start up, you can also get a somewhat confusing "Insufficient memory to run this program" message, regardless of how much RAM you have installed.

Current Icon0=Shows the icon of the application currently in use on the Launch Pad button bar.
Defrag Mem Button0=The Defrag Mem function rearranges memory currently allocated to the global heap so that the maximum amount of contiguous memory is free. It discards unlocked discardable objects and defragments the heap to provide the maximum number of contiguous free bytes.
Description0=Type in the name of the application as you would like it to appear in the WinWin title bar when the mouse pointer is over the application icon in the Launch Pad. The description is optional. If you leave this box blank, WinWin will display the application's path and file name.
Destroy Button0=WARNING! - Forces the next selected program from the Running Apps bar closed. Any unsaved data will be lost without prompt. Even closes programs with their Close (Alt-F4) selection disabled. It will close many programs Task Manager can't.
Destroy Button1=It will close Program Manager without leaving Windows even if Program Manager is the main Windows shell. Use with care. Only shellable programs like Program Manager and Window Manager can exit Windows properly. If after destroying Program Manager you exit Window Manager, without exiting Windows, you may be left no way to exit Windows properly.
Dialog Window0=The Dialog Window is an interface between WinWin and you for asking preferences on options and the direction of program flow.
Disclaimer Button0=Pressing this button shows the disclaimer statement.
Early Warning0=Sets the early warning alarm point for the corresponding resource type. This is useful if you wish to be informed when your system is being heavily used, but not yet at critical levels.
Enter Exclude Button0=Moves any data entered onto the exclude list. Files listed as excluded will not be loaded into the Launch Pad toolbar.
Exclude Button0=Opens a window for editing the automatic add exclude list. This feature allows you to enter any programs you want to have excluded from automatically being added to the Launch Pad bar.

Exit Button0=Closes Window Manager, saves option settings and system data.
Exit Button1= If Window Manager is in the Shell Mode you will be prompted to exit Windows or abort exit. If it is in the Shell Mode and not the only application running, you will be given the option to exit Window Manager with or without exiting Windows.
Exit Windows Button0=Provides a quick way to exit Windows. Most running applications will prompt you to save any unsaved data. If you are unsure if a running application is well behaved, enter the application first, save the data and close the application before exit.
GDI Free Space0=Displays the percentage of free space for GDI resources. GDI resources include device-context handles, brushes, pens, regions, fonts, and bitmaps. (GDI = Graphics Device Interface)
Help Button0=Opens a help dialog box for selecting text describing the WinWin EasyHelp system or the WinWin Overview.
Help System0=The WinWin EasyHelp system is invoked by clicking any item with the opposite mouse button. A dialog box will appear that describes the item's actions and/or meaning.
Help System1=With each topic you will be presented with the option of selecting the OK button to print the help text or the Cancel button to return to Window Manager. An example of this can be seen below.
Hide Me When Launching Option0=This option is similar to the "Minimize me on use" option except that instead of minimizing Window Manager to an icon when launching a program, it hides Window Manager. Pressing the WinWin button in the upper left hand corner of the launched program will make it reappear. This reduces the desktop clutter and runs Window Manager in the background.
Hide Me When Launching Option1=If the "Restore me when all windows are icons" option is set, Window Manager will reappear when all windows are minimized. Also, if Window Manager is set to replace the Task Manager with the "Replace Task Manager" option, you can cause Window Manager to reappear by double-clicking the desktop or press the Ctrl-Esc keys. (see "Restore me when all windows are icons" and "Replace Task Manager" options for more information.)
Icon File Name0=The Icon File Name displays the selected icon file name and path. The icons in this file are displayed in the icon button bar labeled "Select New Icon". You can choose a new file, with a new group of icons, by clicking the Browes Icon button and selecting a file.
Launch Options0=This section provides options on how you want an application to launch. You can have it run minimized as an icon, maximized to full screen or normal for intermediate size. You also can select to have the application run in the state it was when last closed or to run it hidden in the background.

Launch Pad Bar0=This section contains the permanent Windows system launch buttons (top row), the programmable launch buttons (next row) and the Add, Exclude, Help, Remove and Run control buttons. These controls give you quick access to launch (start) the applications you use. If you have more programmable applications than can be shown the scroll buttons will become active.

Launch Pad Buttons0=The Launch Pad contains icons for programs you have run before or added using the Add button feature. When you press a Launch Pad button the corresponding application is launched and runs in the foreground, ready to go to work. The icon for the launched (now running) application will then appear in the Running Apps bar.
Launch Pad Buttons1=You can arrange the icons in the Launch Pad by pressing the Shift or Ctrl key and dragging it to the desired position. Dragging is accomplished by placing the mouse cursor over the item to drag, holding the mouse button down while pressing the Shift or Ctrl key, moving the mouse cursor and item to the new location, and releasing the mouse button.
Licenced To0=Enter your name in the "Licenced to:" text box to register WinWin.
Link All Option0=Selecting this option allows Window Manager to link all programs for fast application switching. It extends the Link function beyond only applications linked when linking was originally established. (see Link Button help for more information) To restrict linking to only the original two applications linked, uncheck the Link All option.
Link All Option1=To change a link once established (with Link All checked), go to the application to link from then just press the Window Manager button (the red "W") in the upper left of the application (next to system menu.) When Window Manager comes up select the next application. That will link it to the previous program. You can continue to chain link as long as you like. When you are ready to break linking press the Unlink button.
Link Button0=Begins a process to link two applications together. Particularly useful when doing work requiring frequent switching from one application to another with a minimum of keystrokes and clicks. It doesn't clutter up the desktop like Alt-Tab switching does.
Link Button1=To establish a link, press the Link Button and select the program to be linked from Running Apps bar. Then select another program to link with, which will bring it up. The programs are now linked. To switch back and forth all that's needed is to minimize one program and the other will come up. One click and you're there and the desktop stays clear. When your done working between these programs press the Window Manager button (the red "W") in the upper left of either program (next to system menu.) Then press the Unlink button.
Make WinWin Disk Button0=Creates a distribution disk for installing the WinWin Window Manager on another computer. This may be used to make a backup or to pass the program along to a friend. All of the original files must be in their original locations with their original names or Make Disk will abort.
Make WinWin Disk Button1=The WinWin Window Manager application is being marketed using the "try-before-you-buy" concept of Shareware distribution. Feel free to give out copies or upload to on-line services and BBS. All files originally supplied must be distributed together in their original form or distribution will be deemed a copyright infringement.
Management Style Options0=This group of options governs the way in which Window Manager deals with Windows applications. It includes WinWin button tag along control, the option to include background programs, icon management, Task Manager replacement and the Memory Guardian.
Management Style Options1=(see help topics for individual options for more information.)
Me On Top Option0=When this option is enabled the Window Manager window will stay on top of all other windows. You can use this feature to see changes in resources before and after an application is run to evaluate how much memory it is taking or for any other reason you want to keep Window Manager in view.
Minimize All Button0=Minimizes all running windows. This is useful when your desktop gets too cluttered and you want to clear the deck.
Minimize Me On Use Option0=Selecting this option causes Window Manager to minimize when launching an application. This is equivalent to the "Minimize on Use" selection of the Options menu in Program Manager.
No Close/Link/Properties/Remove Dialog Option0=Checking this option eliminates the prompt and cancel dialog seen while using the Close, Link, Properties and Remove options. Once you are familiar with these features, eliminating this dialog speeds up the process by reducing the mouse clicks and keystrokes required.
Number Of Icons0=Indicates the total number of icons available in the selected file shown in the Icon File Name box.
OK Button0=Accepts changes, if any, and exits to return to Window Manager.
Options Button0=Opens a window offering more options including a Personality Traits group and a Management Style group. These options govern the behavior of Window Manager. Also available here are the Make Disk and Uninstall utilities.

Press Button0=Press buttons are buttons used in a dialog box to allow you to change the course of the program. By clicking a Press button, the action stated to the right of the button will be executed.
Properties0=After an application item has been created in the Launch Pad bar, you can specify the application item's properties. Properties include such things as a description for the item that will appear in the title bar, whether the application will be launched minimized, maximized, as a background hidden program or as it was when it was closed, and the icon that WinWin uses to represent the application.

Reboot Machine Button0=Provides a quick way to exit Windows and reboot your machine. Most running applications will prompt you to save any unsaved data. If you are unsure if a running application is well behaved, enter the application first, save the data and close the application before rebooting.
Reboot Machine Button1=This is the equivalent to pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del keys to warm boot in DOS.
Registration0=Registration is the process of converting Shareware from "try before you buy" mode to a "full retail" mode. After registration, you will not be pestered with registration messages and will be eligible for many benefits.
Registration1=Click the "About Shareware" and "About Registration" buttons for more information.
Registration #0=Enter the Registration Number assigned to you in the "Registration #:" text box to register WinWin.
Remember Button0=Saves the status of the Running Apps bar so your next Windows session can automatically restart these applications and have them ready to pick up where you left off.
Remember Button1=You must have Window Manager optioned as your Windows shell and Run Startups checked. (see Run Startups option help for more information.)
Remove Button0=Removes the next selected program from the Launch Pad bar.
Remove Exclude Button0=Removes highlighted selection from the exclude list.
Replace Task Manager Option0=Activating this option reconfigures Windows to replace Task Manager with Window Manager. Then Window Manager will appear when double-clicking the desktop or pressing the Ctrl-Esc keys instead of Task Manager. You will be prompted to quit and restart Windows so the change will take effect. Do not press Ctrl+Alt+Del or reboot the machine to restart Windows as this will result in loss of information.
Replace Task Manager Option1=The restart Windows operation will only be necessary the first time you check this option. From then on, you can freely check it or uncheck it to restore Task Manager to normal use. For your convenience, if Window Manager is already visible and not minimized, double-clicking or pressing the Ctrl-Esc keys will bring up Task Manager for your use.
Resource Alarm Settings0=Provides a dialog to activate and set system resource alarms. You may set early warning and severe alarm levels for each system parameter to indicate when you might want to close one or more applications to prevent memory errors or crashes.
Resource Type0=Indicates the name of the resource being monitored by the alarm system. (for an explanation of the individual resource types refer to the help topics in the System Resource section of the main Window Manager window.)
Restart Windows Button0=Provides a quick way to exit and restart Windows. Most running applications will prompt you to save any unsaved data. If you are unsure if a running application is well behaved, enter the application first, save the data and close the application before restarting.
Restart Windows Button1=This is useful for Windows "power users" who usually run many programs at once and run out of resources that aren't fully recovered by closing the applications. If Window Manager is configured to be the shell and Run Startups is selected, pressing the Remember Button before restarting will have the working applications you were using load back up when Windows restarts. (see Shell Mode, Run Startups and Remember Button help for more information.)
Restore Me When All Windows Are Icons Option0=This option performs the reversing function to the "Minimize Me On Use" option. When all windows are minimized, Window Manager restores and activates itself. This provides rapid access to select your next action and reduces the number of mouse clicks and keystrokes to navigate Windows.
Run As Was0=This option makes WinWin launch the selected application in the same state as it was when it was closed. As an example, if the application was minimized to an icon when it was closed, it will launch as an icon or if it was maximized to full screen, it will launch maximized, etc.
Run Hidden0=When this option is checked, WinWin will launch the selected application in the hidden mode. The hidden mode runs applications invisibly in the background. They can't normally be seen, but they are still fully operational and still consume system resources like any other application. In order to see and manipulate the hidden application, you may need to check the "Show hidden applications" option in the Managment Style section of the WinWin Options window. You access this window by clicking the "Options" button on the main WinWin Window Manager window.
Run Maximized0=When this option is checked, WinWin will launch the selected application in the maximized (full screen) mode.
Run Minimized0=When this option is checked, WinWin will launch the selected application in the minimized (iconic) mode.
Run Normal0=When this option is checked, WinWin will launch the selected application in the normal mode. This is the window size, sometimes refered to as retored or intermediate, that is between maximized and minimized.
Run Startups Option0=This option is used to automatically load the programs you are using onto your desktop, ready to go, in your next Window session. You must have the Shell Mode option checked. Then just press the Remember Button whenever you have the desired programs running. (see the Shell Mode option and Remember Button help for more information.)
Run Startups Option1=Additionally, if the "Use WIN.INI load & run files with startups" option is checked, any files listed in the file WIN.INI in your main Windows directory will be included. (see "Use WIN.INI load & run files with startups" option help found in the Window Manager Options window for more information.)
Run Button0=Runs the program or associated file typed into the space to the right of the button. If nothing has been entered a browse dialog box will appear for selection.
Run Button1=This can be used to launch programs that don't appear in the Launch Pad bar or to run a setup program for installation. (i.e., a:\setup)
Running Apps Bar0=This section contains the running applications buttons. These buttons give you quick access to the applications (tasks) you have running. If you have more applications running than can be shown, the scroll buttons will become active. Also found here are the Close, Destroy, Link and Remember buttons providing advanced application manipulation features.
Running Apps Bar1=(see the help topics for the individual controls for more information.)
Running Apps Buttons0=The Running Apps bar contains icons for programs you have running now. When you press a Running Apps button the corresponding application is restored and runs in the foreground, ready to go to work. The icon for the running application will then appear in the first position of the Running Apps bar, indicating that it is the active, on-top application.
Scan Button0=Starts Window Manager updating scan to keep displays current and provide full managerial functioning.
Scroll Buttons0=The scroll buttons are used to provide access to all icons in the Launch Pad, Running Apps and Icon Selection bars when more icons are loaded than can be shown at any one time. You can tell when there are more icons if the scroll buttons become active.
Scroll Buttons1=By pressing a scroll button, the icons will shift to reveal the icons in the direction of the arrow. The buttons with one arrow move the row one position. The buttons with two arrows move the row two positions. The buttons with arrows pointing to a bar (i.e., >>| ) move the row to the end.
Select From Launch Pad Bar Button0=Removes the next program selected on the Launch Pad from the Launch Pad bar and adds its file name to the Exclude list. Files listed as excluded will not be loaded into the Launch Pad toolbar.
Select New Icon Buttons0=The Select New Icon button bar contains icons of the Icon File Name for your selection. Clicking an icon button will replace the current icon with the choosen icon in the Launch Pad.
Selected Icon0=Shows the icon selected to replace the current icon for the application in the Launch Pad.
Severe Warning0=Sets the severe warning alarm point for the corresponding resource type. This is useful to be warned when your system is being heavily used at critical levels. Set these alarm points slightly higher than the point where you typically have resource shortage problems, such as, not enough memory messages, system slow downs or general protection faults.
Shell Option0=When this option is checked Window Manager immediately assumes the roll of the main windows shell. This does not close the previous shell (usually Program Manager), but will substitute itself in the next Window session. You may return to the previous shell at any time by unchecking this option.
Shell Option1=The Run Startups option and Remember Buttons are enabled only when the Shell Mode is checked. To have remembered programs automatically loaded onto the desktop in the next Windows session you must be in the shell mode with the Run Startups option checked. (see the Run Startups option and Remember Button help for more information.)
Show Hidden Applications0=Selecting this option causes Window Manager to show hidden applications and background programs in the Running Apps bar. This will let you see exactly what is running and using Windows resources. In some cases you can then launch and manipulate them as you would a normal application. Unchecking this option will revert Window Manager back to its original operation.
Show Hidden Applications1=CAUTION: Closing or Destroying a previously hidden element can cause problems. Many times a hidden element has been placed into service by a visible application that is codependent on it.
Stop Scan Button0=Stops Window Manager scan, freezing displays and preventing managerial functions. This can be used to temporarily have Windows revert back to its basic operation without the need to change option settings or close Window Manager.
System Free Space0=Displays the percentage of free space for system resources.
System Resources0=This section displays the systems resources available to the Windows operating environment. The amount of free memory in bytes and the free heap resources in percentage are shown. (see individual help topics for more information.)
System Resources1=The time and date of your system clock are also displayed here for your convenience.
Tag Along Launched Windows Only Option0=This restricts Window Manager from attaching the WinWin button to only Window Manager launched programs. The WinWin button is the red "W" found on top of the active application on the left side of the caption bar, immediately next to the system menu button. Pressing it at any time provides a quick way to return to the Window Manager.
Tag Along Parent Windows Only Option0=This restricts Window Manager from attaching the WinWin button to only parent windows. The WinWin button is the red "W" found on top of the active application on the left side of the caption bar, immediately next to the system menu button. Pressing it at any time provides a quick way to return to the Window Manager.
Tag Along Parent Windows Only Option1=This can be used if a child (or sub-window) of a particular application you are using are incompatible or otherwise don't behave well with the WinWin button.
Time and Date0=Shows the current time and date of the system clock.
Uninstall WinWin Button0=Pressing this button starts the WinWin Window Manager uninstall process. If the evaluation period has ended and you have decided that this product is not for you, you can use this feature to remove it from your system. NOTE: This action is irreversible! If you wish, prior to the uninstall action, you may make a reinstallation disk using the Make WinWin Disk feature for future use. The WinWin Window Manager uninstall process is the preferred way to remove this product, as no external uninstall program can know better than the product itself where all of its components are. NOTE: All of the original files must be in their original locations with their original names for uninstall to work properly. If they are not, either some files may be missed or uninstall may abort.
Uninstall WinWin Button1=Thank you for evaluating this product.
Unlink Button0=Used to break a link established between applications using the Link Button. Can also be used to abort a link during the linking process.

Use WIN.INI Load & Run Files Option0=Checking this option causes the Run Startups option to include any programs listed in the Load= and Run= entries of the WIN.INI Windows initialization file under the [windows] section. These programs will be added to any remembered programs setup to run at the start of your next Windows session with the Remember Button.
Use WIN.INI Load & Run Files Option1=For this option to take effect you must have the Shell Mode and Run Startups options selected. (see the help topics for these options for more information.)
User Free Space0=Returns the percentage of free space for USER resources. These resources include window and menu handles.
Virtual Memory0=Virtual Memory reports an estimate of the amount of memory available to an application. Virtual memory is made up of a combination of your machines hardware RAM memory and the Windows operating system swapfile. Virtual Memory scans the global heap and returns the number of bytes of memory currently available, in bytes.
Virtual Memory1=The amount of memory specified is not necessarily contiguous. It does not account for memory held in reserve for non-Windows applications.
Window Manager Window0=This is the main window for the WinWin window manager application. It contains the Launch Pad, Running Apps and System Resources sections. Additionally, it provides operational options and the main control button array.

Window Under Mouse To Top Option0=When this option is selected any window under the mouse cursor will come to the top and be activated. This is the same as the feature found in the XWindows operating system.
